Show Summary: Aquackanack, Pennsylvania! Home of the Yellow Harvest Lemonade Company, and its founders the Costermonger family. For over a century, Yellow Harvest Brand Lemonade has remained one of the most trusted names in leisure beverages across the east coast. But how did one family transform a small, rural town into the "Lemonade Capital of the Northeast"? Well, don't take my word for it! Have a look for yourself, as
we uncover the bittersweet secrets of Yellow Harvest!" "Lemonade!" is a new musical written by Lebanon County natives Dave Breidenstine, Sean Eisenhauer, and John Fischer. When the renowned Yellow Harvest Lemonade Company finds that its product has lost its footing in the modern, competitive market, their sights turn to a successful children's lemonade stand. Can a pair of headstrong twins and their browbeaten father withstand pressure from a disillusioned lemonade executive, his lawyer confidant, a plucky secretary, the local news, and a mob of angry townsfolk for control of the nation's next great beverage sensation? ...Maybe!
THE CHARACTERS: (English accents required)
Rosemary Palmer (18-30F, Belter) - The thoughtful, resourceful, and younger member of the Palmer twins, she has a strong sense of justice, ambition, and despite her age in the character breakdown, is actually 7.
Wade Palmer (18-30M, Tenor) - The troublemaking, rambunctious, and older member of the Palmer twins, he has a vivid imagination, dreams of a life he has never had, and despite his age in the character breakdown, is also actually 7.
Doug Palmer (30-45M, Baritone) - The patriarch of the Palmer clan, this put-upon father has worked hard for 14 years at the Yellow Harvest Lemonade Company to provide his children a home. He is pushed to his breaking point over the course of the show. Will he step over it? Probably. But there's only one way to actually find out!
Alvin Costermonger (30-55M, Baritone) - The owner of the Yellow Harvest Lemonade Company. He is a man stuck between the expectations of his ancestors and his own perceived incompetence. Costermonger wants to do the right thing, and he will, just as soon as he figures out what the right thing is. It may take him a while to do this.
Zoey Bechdel (25-40F, Mezzo) - The secretary and protégé of Costermonger, and the woman behind the curtain at Yellow Harvest. Zoey is a competent, intelligent, but not quite self-assured woman. The world around her helps to keep her lack of self-assuredness running smoothly.
Roger Tontine (30-55M, Tenor) - Costermonger's oldest friend who also runs a successful law firm. He always knows what is best and will stop at nothing to achieve it. Nothing, DO YOU HEAR ME!?
Jane McMahon (25-40, Mezzo) - The field reporter for WAQK Action News 14 who is torn between her responsibilities as a journalist and the realities of the 24-hour news cycle.
Skip Rollins (30-50M, Baritone) - The lead anchor at WAQK Action News 14 who is in no way torn between his responsibilities as a journalist and the realities of the 24-hour news cycle. Like, at all.
The rest of the cast will play the parents, children, factory workers, and all other residents of the town of Aquackanack, the rest of the WAQK Action News 14 team, the Costermonger family, Roger's law firm, and a variety of jungle animals.
